At the start of his career, Dr. Karande gained experience in Mumbai, working in the intensive care unit at Wockhardt Hospital, and later in the Pulmonary Medicine department of KEM Hospital. In 2008 he set up The Asthma, Allergy and Chest Centre in Goa, which now has two branches, one in Panaji and the other in Mapusa. The centre provides consultation and diagnostic facilities for all respiratory disorders under one roof.
The Asthma, Allergy and Chest Centre is well equipped to conduct comprehensive allergy testing for asthma, nasal, skin and eye allergy problems. It was the first clinic to offer polysomnography (sleep study) facilities in Goa, providing a 16-channel study including EEG channels.
Dr. Haradatt Karande treats adults as well as paediatric patients with chest problems. He has considerable experience and expertise in dealing with cases related to bronchitis/COPD, bronchiectasis, pneumonia, lung cancer, tuberculosis and lung fibrosis. He also does various fibre-optic bronchoscopy (chest endoscopy) procedures for diagnosis and management of chest diseases. He has considerable experience in the areas of sleep disorders such as snoring, sleep apnea, and day-time sleepiness problems.
Besides running his clinics, Dr. Karande is a Visiting Chest Physician at hospitals in Panaji (Campal Clinic, Esperanza Trinity, Manipal Hospital and Vintage Hospital) and Mapusa (Galaxy Hospital and Vision Multispeciality Hospital), where he is available for managing all chest diseases requiring hospital admissions, including ICU management.
